Details
This is the second seminar in a series of joint events with the Health and Safety Executive which is looking at reducing the risk of fires on sites by clamping down on dangerous working practices. The move comes after seven multistorey timber-frame developments burned to the ground in the past two years.
Phil Burgess, our first speaker, is the inspector in charge of fire and refurbishment in the HSE’s Construction Division. Phil's presentation will try to lift the profile of fire safety in construction looking at safety in general, particularly in high-risk buildings such as timber frame, refurbishment and tall buildings.
Dr Jim Marsden, our second speaker, is the Lead Fire Engineer with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. Jim has over 30 years experience in fire fighting and fire safety and is currently working in the field of fire engineering with responsibility for major fire engineering projects within the County of Greater Manchester.
