Buildhealth
Invites you to a Construction Health Awareness Day
on Friday 24th October 2008 at the North West Regional College Londonderry
We are all very familiar with the main causes of accidents in the construction industry, but we probably know less about the main risks to the health of construction workers.
That’s what this event is about - how to manage the risks to health. Issues covered during the event will include: noise induced hearing loss; hand-arm vibration; manual handling risks; asbestos; silica; dermatitis and managing sick leave. We won’t just be explaining the dangers, but will provide simple, straightforward and practical advice on how to manage them.

Cross Border Seminar for Construction - 29th October 2008
HSA and HSENI invite you to a seminar
which will provide essential information
on a range of topics such as health and
safety management for small firms with
three or less employees to managing
health risks within construction.
The seminar will provide clear
information on the training
requirements applicable on both sides of
the border
Speakers will use examples to illustrate
best practice and show how quality and
added value can be achieved at no extra
cost.
The seminar will be focusing on the key
risk areas in both jurisdictions. In the
Republic of Ireland around 50% of fatal
accidents involve plant and machinery
and in Northern Ireland 50% of fatal
accidents are as a result of a fall when
carrying out work at height.
You will receive an update on the work
that is ongoing under the Buildsafe- NI
and BuildHealth Initiatives.
This Seminar is being run with the
support of Derry City Council and
Donegal County Council. The subject
material will be of interest to managers,
professionals, supervisors and workers.
Venue:
Everglades Hotel,
Prehen Road,
